Daytrips from Bayreuth
I'll be spending a week in Bayreuth during the Festspiele in august.
Any suggestions what to do on the days off? I was thinking about Karlovy Vary nearby in the Czech republic. Are there good communucations (or any) between the towns? Other suggestions? r/l |

DB timetable http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/english.html other suggestions: Bamberg http://www.bamberg.info Vierzehnheiligen - pilgrimage church http://www.vierzehnheiligen.de/fr_aktuell.htm Nuremberg http://www.nuernberg.de/english/tour...tourismus.html state owned castles and palaces in Bavaria http://www.schloesser.bayern.de/engl...loss/index.htm There is a special rail ticket available - the Bavaria-Ticket (EUR 21,-) which gives unlimited travel on a weekday (Mo-Fr) past 9am for the whole state of Bavaria, but only on local trains (RB,RE,IRE). This ticket is valid for up to 5 persons travelling together. In Nuremberg and Munich this ticket is valid on all public transport (U-Bahn, trams, buses) - not just local trains. |
