Fox or Franz Josef Glacier
We are group of 3 adults and 2 kids visiting the west coast of NZ in
mid-February. Due to the tight schedule, we can only spend at most half a day in one of the twin glaciers. We do not expect to have long glacier walk, but a flight with soft landing. Any suggestion? Meanwhile, is it worthwhile to play a visit to the glowing worm cave or Lake Matheson? If so, should we stay in Fox or FJ. Many thanks, Victor |

Hi, itīs Maike...but itīs not my computer...
Iīve been in NZ recently and did the full day walk at the Franz Glacier...and I really would recommend it! It was worth it, definitly! But it was pretty hard as well... so the half day walk would be worth the money too (espacially with children). But how old are your children? And Franz is more spec.! If youīre interessted I could give you the name of the organisation! It was fantastic so donīt miss it! We can keep in touch. "Victor" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... Kids need to be 12+ from memory for paid glacier walks.
We walked to the terminus of FJ and up just a LITTLE way by ourselves (and lots of other unescorted people). If you have time, the glow worm tours from Te Anau are the ones to do - not that I even knew there were any at Matheison. Oh, and hire a camper great fun with a family (see earlier posts on car/camper in this forum, about 5 days ago) "Heinz Fermum" wrote in message ... Hi, itīs Maike...but itīs not my computer...
