Following up to Tim Kroesen

As to my programming; I was taught to respect firearms as potentially
dangerous objects should be respected... not to irrationally run away
from and eschew them any more than automobiles and axes...


I don't think we do. Some of the gun enthusiasts in this thread
go on about some irrational fear of guns, they made up a name,
hopalongapathy or something. I think this is wishful thinking. If
I thought it a good idea to have guns around I would probably
find them as interesting as other toys for boys. But rationally I
don't think it is a good idea, so I don't.
