Only if you want your luggage to get on the aircraft

If I had to guess I would say no. What did they say?

It's not hard to find out.

http://www.usairways.com/awa/Content...epolicies.aspx

US Airways will assess a $15 fee for passengers’ first checked bags. If
you purchased a ticket before July 9, the first bag fee won’t apply. We
also now charge $25 for all second checked bags. The new checked bag
policies apply to all flights to and from Canada, Latin America and the
Caribbean, as well as flights within the U.S.

American didn't charge people for baggage if they bought their tickets
prior to the baggage fee going into effect, so I suspect that U.S. Air
will be the same way, but of course you should call the airline and
inquire, not ask here. But remember, they'll charge you $15 for talking
to them (just kidding).

I flew U.S. Air, for the first time in many years, on Wednesday. It was
almost amusing to see the revenue enhancements that they've come up
with. $15 to check a bag, $2 for a can of soda, $7 for a can of bad
beer, and when you flip down your tray table the entire surface is now
an ad for Advil PM (something you'll need after flying on U.S. Air).

I can't complain, since a no-advance purchase r/t ticket from SFO-LAS
was $158 including taxes and fees, which was a lot less than Southwest
wanted. The plane was pretty empty, even though there was a big trade
show in Las Vegas that normally packs all the flights. I think most of
the people going to the show from this area fly from OAK or SJC, but I
find those airports much more annoying than SFO. At SFO I can park
off-airport for $7 a day with a very quick shuttle to the terminal.
There are far more flights to choose from and the prices are often
lower. They have much more efficient security checkpoints than SJC.

You must be lucky to not encounter SFO's worse on-time record too often.

I guess so. Last four flights have been from SFO, and no delays. Fast,
cheap, parking (or take the train), fast security (the Clear card is a
waste of money for SFO, but not for SJC), and good airport food.

The answer is "NO" as clearly indicated on the US Air website.
Why do you think the answer is "yes"?
