Hi Everyone,
I received this information from Carnival and thought it would be of interest. If you have missed any of my news' postings, they are available on my web site. Best regards, Ray LIGHTHOUSE TRAVEL 800-719-9917 or 805-566-3905 http://www.lighthousetravel.com UPDATE ON CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES' PORT CANAVERAL OPERATIONS: FANTASY VOYAGE DEPARTING THURS., SEPT. 9 WILL OPERATE FROM MIAMI MIAMI (9/7/04) - Based on the latest information from the Canaveral Port Authority, Carnival Cruise Lines finds it necessary to modify the departure port for the three-day Fantasy cruise scheduled to sail Thurs., Sept. 9. The voyage will embark from Miami instead of Port Canaveral, as originally scheduled. Complimentary motorcoach transportation to Miami will be provided. The cruise line initially anticipated that it would be able to return the Fantasy to Port Canaveral on Thursday and operate the next voyage from there, as scheduled. However, based on further assessments of the conditions at Port Canaveral as of this morning, Carnival has been advised that the port will not be ready to receive cruise ships on Thursday. The company realizes this has been a tremendously frustrating experience for its guests and apologizes for the on-going changes and adjustments that have been necessary in the wake of Hurricane Frances. Below is a recap of the current status of the Fantasy, as well as the Carnival Glory, which is also homeported at Port Canaveral. FANTASY - The three-day cruise that departed Port Canaveral on Thurs., Sept. 2 concluded this morning in Miami instead of Port Canaveral, ending two days later than scheduled. Guests may disembark today and make their way home independently or stay on board tonight and receive complimentary bus service tomorrow to Port Canaveral or the Orlando airport. The four-day Fantasy cruise that was scheduled to depart Port Canaveral on Sun., Sept. 5, was cancelled. Guests may choose between a future cruise credit or full refund. The three-day cruise scheduled to depart Port Canaveral on Thurs., Sept. 9 will sail from Miami instead, departing at 10 p.m. Guests scheduled to sail on this voyage will be provided complimentary bus service from the Orlando airport and Port Canaveral to Miami. The voyage is scheduled to terminate in Port Canaveral on Sun., Sept. 12. Guests will receive a $50 per person shipboard credit. CARNIVAL GLORY - The seven-day cruise that departed Port Canaveral on Sat., Aug. 28, terminated this morning in Miami, three days later than scheduled. Guests are being provided complimentary bus service today to the Orlando airport and Port Canaveral. The seven-day cruise originally scheduled to depart Port Canaveral on Sat., Sept. 5 has been modified to a four-day cruise from Miami departing today, Tues., Sept. 7. The new itinerary includes a port call at Cozumel, Mexico. Complimentary bus service to Miami from the Orlando airport and Port Canaveral is being provided. The ship is scheduled to return to Port Canaveral on Sat., Sept. 11. Guests who sail will receive a 50 percent refund of their cruise fare, a $100 per person shipboard credit, and a 50 percent discount off a future cruise of up to seven days in length valid through departures of Dec. 15, 2005. Those who wish to cancel may choose between a future cruise credit or a full refund. Information on all itinerary modifications as a result of Hurricane Frances can be found on the cruise line's web site at www.carnival.com http://www.carnival.com. |
