Car Rental Port Everglades

We will have a late flight home after our cruise so I'm thinking of
renting a car for the day. I understand that it is possible to pick up
a car at the port and return it at the airport. How is this arranged?
Is there a recommended rental agency?

Dollar will pick you up in a shuttle at the port and take you to their
location behind the airport. It's about a 5 minute ride. You drop off
at the same place and another free shuttle will take you to
Ft.Lauderdale Airport.

Same thing for Hertz (at least that was the case in July 2003)
