Woman 'bite' brawl grounds flight

A jet full of British holidaymakers had to be diverted after an
on-board fight between two women passengers.

At the height of the brawl on a Turkey-bound Thomsonfly plane, one of
the women tried to bite cabin crew.

The woman, who had been drinking, could not be calmed down and the
pilots decided to divert to Munich, where the woman was handed over to
police.

The incident happened on a Boeing 757 flight from Gatwick to the
Turkish resort of Antalya last Thursday.

A Thomsonfly spokeswoman said today: "The woman had been drinking and
was causing considerable disruption. Another woman passenger was hit
and the woman tried to bite cabin crew who were trying to restrain her.

"She was eventually restrained but broke free and continued to cause
disruption, The pilot had no choice but to divert to Munich and the
woman and her bags were offloaded and she was handed over to police."

The plane, with more than 200 passengers aboard, eventually landed in
Turkey three hours 40 minutes late.
