Anyone been there? Will be on HAL cruise next month and thinking of
taking this shore excursion. Any feedback....good or bad?

Yes we have. It was great. Ivan of http://www.chacchobenruins.com/ was
great. They came greatly recommended by the users of
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/. Check out both sites. Ivan gave us
background and historical info on the Mayans and the ruins. He is Mayan
himself and speaks perfect English. Both him and his partner, David, are
degreed and licensed.

Chacchoben was the first Mayan site I've visited. It's certainly interesting
and informative. What I liked best about it was the fact that it was a half
day tour so you still have plenty of time to shop or lay on the beach in
Majahual.

The price is usually right. I say do it. It's well worth it. On the bus to
the site they take orders for a Mayan Calendar with a date specified for you
on it. I got 1 for me and Jarrod with our anniversary date on it. It was a
great Christmas Present for him in 2004.

LES!
