Default DAYS INN WARNING!!!

If you book with Days Inn on the internet, and probably any hotel in that
group, IT IS CONCANCELLABLE,no matter how far in advance you book. Beware!

Of course it is. Probably true of any hotel reservations.

Perhaps you should type and proofread your posts *before* finishing the bootle
of Lagavulin...

They are indood, but they're clay finger instead of feet. The difference is that
the meaning of my post was still decipherable, whereas for the OP, we have to
guess.

The cancellation is a con job. As in "the cons in that hotel
cancelled my reservation!"

That's actually a nicely invented word, one word combining meanings
from two words.

WRONG

The cancellation rules vary with the price structure but unless you pick
the lowest fixed rates but you can generally cancel up to
the day before arrival without penalty. Cancellation rules are
always specified on the reservation form.

For example I just priced a room at a Days Inn in Columbus Ohio for the 19
July
and the terms are

"If you need to cancel, you must do so before 4:00 PM on July 18, 2007 or
your
credit card will be charged for one night's stay"

I've booked a lot of hotels on the net over the past five
years in many different countries, sometimes direct with
hotel web-sites but more often through net bookers including
all of these:

http://www.priceline.com/ (name-your-price)
http://www.priceline.co.uk/ (both name-your-price and
standard)
http://www.wotif.com/
http://www.hotwire.com/
http://www.expedia.com/
http://www.hotels.de/
http://www.venere.com/
http://www.channels.nl/
http://www.bookings.net/
http://www.tripadvisor.com/
http://www.travelocity.com/
and several others I’ve forgotten for the moment.

I've only ever had one internet booking cancelled, and that
was by Hotwire when the hotel I booked in Hawaii had a lot
of complaints. The booking was cancelled with plenty of
notice, an apology, and a credit towards my next booking.

I have cancelled a couple myself on arrival, but that's a
separate issue.

Cheers, Alan, Australia
