There's Pt. Everglades which is close to Ft. Lauderdale airport and Port of
Miami (sometimes referred to as Dodge Island), closer to Miami airport. The
distance between them is about 25/30 miles, but could take an hour in
travelling time.

There are sometimes huge differences between the two airports, and not
always better at one then the other. Check both from where you are flying
from, the differences may surprise you.

I guess it could but never took us that long. Depends on the time you go I
guess.

but it is easier to get into and out of Ft Lauderdale then Miami ! so the time
lose from Ft Lauderdale you gain it back! hahaha

The major reason we flew into Ft. Lauderdale was price! It was about $75.00
cheaper per person to fly into Ft. Lauderdale than Miami. So, even after we
paid for the shuttle to the pier, we were still ahead!
