Taking one this weekend. Any suggestions of unusual things to see/do
along the way?

I don't know about unusual, but there's Hearst Castle and the Monterey
aquarium for big things. Of course, if you take the coast rd all the way,
then gawking in awe at the scenery should keep you very busy.

And while around San Simeon, don't forget to at least stop and see if
any of the Elephant Seals are hanging around. That's questionable at
this time of the year, but if they are, they're great to see.

Have fun. It's a great drive!

There's so much to see and do along the Pacific Coast Highway to
Oxnard and the Cabrillo Highway from Goleta that you could spend a
lifetime trying to do see and do it all.

You could start by saying what interests you.
