hi were travelling to brisbane for around 2 months mid nov then to sydney between xmas and new yeaf (sydney for a month ) before we go to nz for 6 weeks...then back to oz. accomadation is sorted for brisbane but not 4 sydney. we guess its gonna be pretty busy in sydney at that time? how far in advance do you think we should book? and any ideas on cheap-mid range hostels/hotels? were from the uk and are in our 20's (honeymoon)!

honeymoon

Agreed - and I appreciate this might be out of your budget (and hard to book
now), but if you can get a good deal in the Shangri-La Hotel, it will really
help make your stay.

We stayed there last year (booked a Darling Harbour View room), and were
upgraded to an Opera House View suite on the 24th floor. Between that and
dinner in the 36th floor restaurant, Sydney ended up being one of the real
highlights of our 4 weeks away.

Jon.
