Is Iran going to hide the black boxes from everyone?

. .. "Iran's aviation authority has said it will not hand over flight recorders from the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800 plane that crashed moments after takeoff from Tehran, killing all 176 passengers and crew onboard, either to the aircraft's manufacturer or US aviation authorities. The statement was issued on Wednesday as the leaders of Ukraine and Canada, from which dozens of citizens died, vowed to identify the cause of the crash amid contradictory statements and swirling speculation." https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...P=share_btn_tw Maybe the Iranians shot down the airliner. That's what it's starting to look like: https://twitter.com/isna_farsi/statu...56225293979648 Iran Accidentally Shoots Down Boeing 737 Carrying Passengers From Tehran to Kiev Dubai’s Al Hadath news channel is reporting that Iran’s anti-aircraft units accidentally shot down a Boeing 727 passenger plane that was flying out of Tehran en route to Ukraine. According to Iranian authorities, the plane had 169 passengers and 9 crew members on board (total count: 178) — 147 were Iranians and 32 were foreigners, including Canadian, Swedish and Ukrainian nationals. Iranian – 82 Canadian – 63 Ukraine – 2 + 9 (crew) Sweden – 10 Afghanistan – 4 Germany – 3 United Kingdom – 3 Speculation is that the Iranian military mistook the plane for an incoming American missile. The takeoff was approximately two hours after Iran’s missile attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq. No American troops were killed in that earlier attack. This is an unconfirmed report. What is confirmed is that a Ukraine-bound Boeing 737 plane did in fact explode a few minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport. It was Ukraine International Airline (UIA) flight number PS752 headed for Boryspil International Airport, which is about 25 miles east of Kiev proper. Initial reports were that the plane crash was due to a technical failure. Later, Al Hadath added that the plane’s abrupt loss of speed on radar and the subsequent fireball indicate a mid-air explosion. The plane exploded mid-air above Shahriar, near Tehran. https://www.hollywoodlanews.com/iran...ing-737-plane/ I smell something fishy: "Experts 'surprised' after Iranian authorities quickly attribute Boeing crash to engine failure": https://finance.yahoo.com/news/boein...223804550.html "[M]any did agree that the plane may have suffered a sudden and violent catastrophic failure, either caused by an engine failure or missile attack. This was evidenced by the flight data that abruptly cut off during its climb, which was noted as 'very unusual'. Former inspector general of the U.S Department of Transportation Mary Schiavo criticized Iranian officials' quick decision to declare the cause of the crash as engine failure, claiming that 'There was no way for Iran to know it was engine failure.' An aviation monitoring group Opsgroup stated: "We would recommend the starting assumption to be that this was a shootdown event, similar to MH17 – until there is clear evidence to the contrary'..." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrain...nes_Flight_752 Excellent strategy Iran. My guess is that they had their air defense system turned on and it screwed up, thought it was seeing a B-52. |
