Default long flight seating suggestions

Will be flying to London on NWA Airbus-330 this Dec and flight is 8-9
hours and wondering where best seating is regarding noise, comfort, etc.
Wife wants window, aisle for me. Over wing, tailend, middle, any
suggestions or thoughts welcome.

Over-wing is smoothest, front of the cabin quietest. Tail is bumpiest.
Exit row seating will get you more leg room, but make sure your seat
reclines, not all do. Also, "window" seats on Airbi don't actually have a
window -- your wife could wind up sitting next a blank wall for the entire
trip.

8-9 hours isn't that long, compared to trans-Pacific, but you can probably
look up the specifics of your seats he

An aisle seat might let you stretch your legs a bit. But be careful
when you do that, or you'll just get your knee banged up by the food
cart instead of the seat in front of you.

I saw the Northern Lights once from a window seat on the left side of a
747 on the way from Minneapolis to London. Other than that, there's not
much to see out there.

Yup. And next best suggestion is to avoid NorthWest. :-)

The tail end of any aircraft is generally the worst in terms of noise
level and buffeting. The A330 has a 2-4-2 seating so you can get your
window/aisle combination next to each other. See

I've flown Northwest's A330's between AMS and DTW - I'd want to sit in the 2
side (either window - the seating is 2-4-2 in economy; seating is relatively
comfortable, especially compared to NW's DC10's which the Airbuses have
replaced.
