But could you explain why you dont want to install it?

Don't get me wrong: I *have* installed flash!
Miguel found out the link to the file and put it manually in the location
bar, so it worked.
Sorry if I don't want to go through such procedures just to view a website.
Maybe it's a good procedure to hide content from being viewed, but then
again: what's the use of such a website?

there may be somethings you like seeing? i dont understand the
mentality of purposely closing yourself off to certain content on the

internet

Hehe, it's not me that closes me off from the content. It's the website
author that is using non standard techniques. Why don't you use plain html?

if i lot of people think like this, maybe i will change the way the
fotos are displayed ...

Would be best to improve accessability and reduces the amount of problems
with viewing the site drastically.

html is not a bad thing and understood worldwide

thanks to all for the feedback

miguel may i ask you what problem you had exactly and your
configuration? pc or mac? and which browser?

i understand flash is a cpu hog and that is my main concern. im also
concerned about people who dont know what flash is and get confused
about seeing the site.

miguel i really liked your website and its definatly more accessible.
honestly though, i dont have the skills and this is the best i could
come up with!

Yes, that's why I keep it turned off. 95% of the time it's some animated ad
that keeps catching my eye while I'm trying to read the text on the page.
For the 5% of the time that it's useful, I turn it back on. But I wouldn't
go through the trouble for an unknown site, which is why I gave this one a
miss after reading a couple of the comments here.

Too bad, really, 'cause the design and the quality of the pictures are
just excellent.

I went ahead and tried it, and it didn't work. I had to "view source" on the
gallery page to get the name of the Flash file and then manually plug that
into the location bar.

The photos were good but after seeing it, I would maintain that the frippery
of the Flash detracts more than it adds.

Mac, running Safari 1.2.2. I have the popup blocker turned on - could that
have been it?

Thanks - I am pretty sure there are automatic generators that will grind out
all the HTML for you. Haven't tried them myself but I often see them
mentioned. Ultimately it's your choice, of course - after all, it's your
site!
