Hong Kong?
Hi again,
I wish to very gently bring up the idea of which is the better place to stay --Kowloon or Hong Kong Island! It has been many years since I visited HK and remember staying at the Hyatt Regency in Kowloon. I do not remember anything about logistics however. I would like to stay someplace pretty walkable to the Star Ferry as I will be doing business both in Kowloon and in Hong Kong. I am looking for a relative upscale hotel similar to the Hyatt or better. Availability of a nice Harbour view is a plus but not a necessity. Easy public transportation around the shopping areas etc is desirable. Suggestions? I thank you in advance (again ) for your gracious direction! dan |

The subway is fast and easy, although of course more expensive than the ferry. I am looking for a relative upscale hotel similar to the Hyatt or better. Exactly, I wouldn't think of taking the train. The morning boat ride to
Central is relaxing and prepares me for my day. Spehro Pefhany wrote: On Mon, 18 Oct 2004 15:22:23 -0700, the renowned "PeterL" wrote: "d b" wrote in message ... Conrad is somewhat far from the ferry. It is right next to Island Sangrila.
There are quite a few hotels along the harbourfront of Kowloon East with only five minutes walk along the harbour front to the Star Ferry (nice walk - and the wether at this time of the year is quite good) The Sangrila in Kowllon East can be recomended as being perhaps what you are looking for. There is also a quite good hotel in the New World Center. Nik "PeterL" wrote in message ... "d b" wrote in message ...
