All European airports have free karts?

I seem to remember that every European airport I have visited had
free airport karts available. Do you know of any European airports
that don't offer free karts? It is rare for American airports to offer
free karts, I know.

You have to pay for a luggage cart in Hamburg.

I think that many may have free carts, but for some you may have to
insert a Euro to get it which is returned after you return the cart
(the same for shopping carts in Germany). Stuttgart has such an
arrangement.

I recall they were free at Charles DeGaulle airport, but ya may have
to go into an adjacent/nearby screening/ customs area to get an
available one to take to the luggage carousel.

Meanwhile: There is a movie starring Tom Hanks in which the luggage
cart gets a send-up or satirical treatment along with other such fun
airport phenomena.

Hanks does the overall stuck-at-the-airport to humorous limits.

Luggage carts in Atlanta used to be only a (returnable?) 25 cents. Now
ya need a buck or two, but them boogers do take credit cards if all ya
have is a spare ten thousand dollar bill with millard fillmore in wig
on it.

Here's how to avoid the atlanta airport's luggage cart fee:

Perhaps go get one or have the person meeting you get-one from the
parking garage that had been used and temporarily discarded (until all
the loose luggage carts are re-collected).

Not true. Every American airport I've been to (and that's quite a few)
offers free carts for it's international arrivees. It's the domestic
arrivals that have to pay.

arrivals that have to pay.

You must not have arrived at Newark (EWR) in the last few years. You have
to pay for carts there.

internationally is carrying a MC, Visa, Amex, or whatever else they take....

The only place I've seen free carts lately is between the carousels and
customs....

I would assume *everyone* arriving internationally is carrying a MC,
Visa, Amex, or whatever else they take....

and those that do will be reluctant to use it for one dollar,
expecting to receive a large service fee on top.

IIRC Atlanta charges $2....

You're not really assuming that those carts are there for the
convenience of the passengers? :-) They're another profit center for
the airport.

The airport couldn't care less what your bank charges you, as long as
they get their $2.
