OK, it took a bit of finding, but here is the right link for your album: http://community.webshots.com/user/tkanitra Thanks, you always take wonderful pictures, but these are so depressing. Depressing wasn't something that I felt while there. It was more amazement at the sheer magnitude of the damage. Shock. A feeling of surreal. Similar to when the WTC's collapsed. I stood on the dock... looked out 100 ft. to water where the Carnival pier once stood, looked at the shore where Sr. Frogs stood, looked at the hotels that you could see through... shook my head and just said "F**K"! Plus, looking at the resolve of the people... I never got the feeling of depressing. I guess the real reason I put up the pictures is that I don't want people who will be going there to have the impression that it's even remotely back to normal for Cozumel. It may be half a year before Sr. Frogs and Carlos'n'Charlies are open again. But the people of Cozumel need us. Just like the people of NOLA and the Gulf Coast needed our help. I've never been to NOLA, but I guess some of the feelings that people were feeling about NOLA are the same kinds of feelings I'm having about Cozumel. --Tom |

The main Sr. Frogs and Carlos and Charlies at the Langosta pier suffered less damage and could be open in a month or two. I went downtown after Paradise Beach (Tom went back to the ship). Many of the stores are up and running downtown. A lot of work has been done there and is being done there. It does not look bad there, a lot of damage was to second floors. Got to run...maybe more later -- Charles |
