Default St. Thomas vs. Spring Break

My wife and I are considering a vacation to St.Thomas, possibly in
March. Is St. Thomas popular with spring breakers? We would like to
avoid that which is why we rulled out other Caribbean/Mexican
destinations. Thanks in advance.

- Manuel.

It depends on what you want in a vacation. St. Thomas is the 2nd or 3rd
most popular cruise ship port in the Caribbean, so it's almost always
crowded. If you are looking for peace, quiet, and serenity, you might
consider another island. Anguilla, Nevis, and Vieques/Culebra come to mind.

Default St. Thomas vs. Spring Break

Hi Manuel,

St. Thomas is not a big spring break destination. The island seems to be more
appealing to a more mature tourist than the really popular spring break
destinations.

The excellent restaurants and great shopping aren't the type that bring droves
of college kids down. Plus the island is probably a bit more expensive than
the other spring break favorites.

While you can get a lot of day visitors in the downtown shopping area and at
Havensite, once you get outside of those two areas, you will find many quiet,
at times almost deeserted beaches to enjoy.

It's one of my favorites because it offers the great combination of beaches,
good food, historical sites, shopping, tropical beauty and also allows easy
daytrips to St. John or the BVI.

Schultz
