Slots on the Solstice
In article ,
"Jean O'Boyle" wrote: "Kurt Ullman" wrote in message ... Thanks. The rumor I had heard was that everything was off the SeaPass card both in and out, which sounded like a REALL bad idea on so many levels (g). The Slip o' Paper is pretty standard in the industry now. Kurt, Where the SeaPass card comes into play is that they have a slot on the machine where you insert your SeaPass card and it keeps tabs on the amount that you spend...For instance, 400 points will give you $5.cash back or t-shirt, etc. when you cash out at the end of the cruise or whenever you wish to stop playing.. 600 points gives you $10. or bar drinks, etc. There is a list at the cashier's desk that informs what you can get for "x" amount of points. Just don't forget to sign the back of your card or leave your card in the machine when you stop or move to another one. The machines accept only paper currency... Oh, okay. That is where I probably go confused. The first time we ran across that (on a cruise) was with the Jewel otS in June. When you cash out, you get a paper ticket that tells the amount of money you have left which you can use later or cash in at the cashier's desk...They use those paper tickets in Vegas and I also remember having used them on another ship but cannot recall the name right now. For me, the Solstice was quite tight...I did end up with some money and a black t-shirt with a white slot machine that said "Winner"...LOL! At least it didn't say "Loser!" I got the same one (although yours probably says Celebrity in place of RCI). Thought the points needed to get a tee-shirt were rather high, though. The ships were about the only place left that had slots that paid off in coin any more. Did they have a slot tournament? On the Regatta, I won $2,445.on a slot machine so I guess it was 'pay-back' time this time around! I wish you better luck than I had. Have a great cruise...the ship is absolutely beautiful. With slots, luck is pretty much the entire mojo. One of the reasons I like them. Get to put the brain on cruise control for awhile. Too many decisions to make in blackjack (g). |

What I neglected to mention, Kurt...if you use your SeaPass Card to charge money against your account in the casino...there is a 3 % charge. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity did not use to do that but now they have joined the other lines..;-( So now I have to bring more cash when we cruise as I'll be danged if I pay 3% on my losses when or if I lose! ;-) You have to consider playing the slots as entertainment or else you take any loss, no matter how small, too personally! --Jean |
