Hi John,

I believe correcting your 2 incorrect postings was of value to those

I do know about the Pax Services Act as applied to Hawaii. I don't
care about extra days at sea. I would be OK with leaving from Mexico
or Canada.

What I wanted to know, which neither of you has answered is -- are
there any other cruises in or around or to Hawaii scheduled for the
summer of 2010?

Hi Rosalie,

With a few exceptions the cruise lines do not sail from the US
mainland to Hawaii during the summer. I just did a quick check for
you and do not see any during this time period for the 2010 summer.
All cruise lines have not posted their summer 2010 schedules yet. As
I said it is rare that they do these sailings in the summer as they
have their ships in Alaska. I suggest that you ask your travel agent
to watch for one of these exceptions for you.

Ray

I'm not a travel agent, let alone a cruise specialist like Ray
Goldenberg claims to be, but a simple search of Google finds that NCL
has quite a few cruises which do Hawaii in 2010.

Jan 23, Oct 9, Nov 6
Jan 2, Jan 9, Jan 16, Jan 30, Feb 6, Feb 13, Feb 20, Feb 27, Mar 6, Mar
13, Mar 20, Mar 27, Apr 3, Apr 10, Apr 17, May 8, May 15, May 22, May
29, Jun 5, Jun 12, Jun 19, Jun 26, Jul 3, Jul 10, Jul 17, Jul 24, Jul
31, Aug 7, Aug 14, Aug 21, Aug 28, Sep 4, Sep 11, Sep 18, Sep 25, Oct 2,
Oct 16, Oct 23, Oct 30, Nov 13, Nov 20, Nov 27, Dec 4, Dec 11, Dec 18,
Dec 25

Now, don't get me wrong but one would think that someone who spends as
much time ADVERTISING himself as a cruise specialist like Ray does would
have been able to find these cruises listed, but I guess he didn't have
the time, seeing as he has to post altered cruise line press releases.

I'd suggest to Rosalie she find a travel agent better then Ray is or at
least find one that can use Google.

Hi Good Buddy,

None of your examples are sailing from the US mainland as I understood
Rosalie was asking about. I suggest you leave the cruise planning to a
professional.;+)

I'm not your good buddy.

But I can read English and what she said was "What I wanted to know,
which neither of you has answered is -- are there any other cruises in

I answered her. You responded with another of your famous spams to
advertise your business. It's obvious you need a professional to teach
you how to read, since all the cruises I listed were "in and around or
to Hawaii".

Hi old friend,

I guess you missed this part of her post:

"I do know about the Pax Services Act as applied to Hawaii. I don't
care about extra days at sea. I would be OK with leaving from Mexico
or Canada."

I am sure you know the old PSA and it's affect on sailing from the US.
Have a wonderful evening and it was nice chatting with you again. :+)

Ray

following this thread.

.... and I bet your shills are so proud of you. Now, if only you would
circulate the full and complete information on press releases. However, all
joking, ribbing and harmless sarcasm aside, corrected information is indeed
appreciated when appropriate, depending on the nature and attitude behind it
of course.

Happy sailing Ray...

I have also thought about Iceland, but
either the cruises are repositioning
type cruises during the school year
(like Sept 6th) or else on something
like SilverSea which didn't seem like a
cruise that most children would enjoy.
Although this one might - his mother
says he is an 80 year old man in an 11
year old body. He is verbal and travels
well.

There is a Princess cruise that goes to Iceland this summer. It is on
the Tahitian/ Ocean Princess. Leaves July from New York and returns on
another Northern Atlantic cruise out of Dover, England in August. I'm
not sure which one or if both stop at Iceland, but the itinerary is
unusual. Also don't know about 2010.

From what you say about your Grandson, I think he would like this trip.
The Princess ship is one they bought from Renn and I know you like those
ships.

Rosalie B.,

As Ray already tried to point out, technically you don't leave from either
Mexico or Canada, but San Pedro or San Diego instead, as long as a foreign
port (Mexico or Canada) is on the itinerary somewhere for a round-trip
Hawaii cruise. You personally may indeed not care about the extra days a sea
(as already mentioned, 4 or 5 each way), but if your grandchild is concerned
about missing school, as you did point out, perhaps an alternative to a West
Coast departure may be a better option, or even a one-way Hawaii cruise out
of Vancouver, Canada, cutting the days at sea in half, and with a total
cruise length of around 11 day. Even if out of school in the summer of
2010, while you may not mind it, quite possibly these extra days at sea
could become quite boring to a 13 year old, especially on lines such as
Holland American or Princess - and if indeed a summer itinerary can be found
at all for 2010.

As I suggested before, since you don't mind NCL, your might want to consider
flying to and from Hawaii, and taking the 7-day 'NCL American' round-trip
cruise around the islands on the "Pride of America", from Honolulu. I had
previously mentioned this itinerary before in my original thread back to
you, and included a connection to some related online photo albums for
reference, along with showing the available NCL Shore Excursions, which does
include quite a few options for Volcanoes. Likewise, BikeRider50 was kind
enough to provide all the available dates, including the Summer of 2010,
that are available.

In addition, as I did mention before, there is no better way to see most of
Hawaii that on a cruise, and without all the hassle, flying from island to
island, hotels, packing and unpacking, etc. And in this particular case, NCL
is the only way to go.

Happy sailing...
