Default FLIGHT PLANS

Great group here! I was wondering if anyone here can give me the right
answer to what I am indending to do this coming Saturday & then
returning 11 days later.... departing from Tampa Florida & landing in
Philly & driving a rental car to Central NJ. With the weather conditions
that are presently occurring & still on going with more severe weather
comming on the East Coast.... My flight is an early flight from Tampa
Florida & then I am arriving in Philly to obtain a rental car & will
drive 60 plus miles to Central NJ. I was planning on enjoying my time
for the 11 days when I made these plans which was 2 months ago. On the
day when I am departing I will have to again drive 60 plus miles to get
back to the airport (Philadelphia). Like I said I am in Florida on the
Gulf (Tampa) & with all the current signs of things to come.... waves
that have been spotted & also who knows what will still show or progress
further.... & since it is hurricane season.... so I don't know when I am
gone if there will be anything happening & where I am going there are
now & will be further weather issues. If anyone can give me their
opinion of whether I am wise to take the chance of getting on my flight
& dealing with what is ahead of me.... I would be most greatful. ..Mindy

If it's any help, Mindy, I did a very similar trip in August. I flew
from Harlingen, Texas to Houston Hobby airport to Philadelphia where I
rented a car from Budget and drove to Central Jersey where my children
live. One is in Hightstown (near Princeton) and the other is in Marlboro
in Monmouth County.

The trips to and from the airports were uneventful. I made sure I had a
lot of extra time when heading back to the airport to account for rush
hour traffic and other delays. I had time to kill when I got there, so I
ate breakfast at Burger King. Their coffee was surprisingly good.

As for the hurricane part, we live where hurricane Dolly hit in July. We
were about to leave on an auto trip to New Mexico when we learned
about a possible storm. We went anyway and we were glad to be somewhere
where there was electricity and air conditioning. We had sort of
pre-evacuated :-)

When the phone lines came back up, we learned that our house was okay,
though we had damage to our fencing and most of our plants were gone due
to having been underwater. We would have had the same damage had we
been home.

Get a few sandbags and put them in front of your doors. If you have
storm shutters, close them before you leave and let a neighbor have your
phone number, just in case.

Have a wonderful trip.

My suggestion is simple. You can't change the weather. Don't worry about
things you can't change. The weather in NJ is rainy now (I live in NJ),
and scattered storms are expected for tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday,
but the temps are in the 60s to mid-70s. Bring a rain coat or umbrella
and you'll be fine.

Default PLANS THANK U ALL

Thanks for getting back to me! I want you to know that I had a wonderful
time & that no bad weather got in my way. I actually had Spring time
weather.... upper 60's! There was a shower only the night before I flew
back. I did watch often the Weather Channel to see what was going on....
& now to see that storms are forming in Mexico. Mindy
