Milford Sound overnight cruise
In article , shakefly says...
I am thinking of going on the Milford Sound overnight cruise on the Milford Wanderer. We are planning to take the cruise the same day we finish the Milford Tramp. Traveling on a budget and the cruise price seems kinda steep... Would like to hear your reviews of the cruise if you have taken it. Thanks! It's actually a YHA hostel, so there's a $NZ19.50 saving per person if you're a member. Cannot recommend it too highly. I took the cruise in December 2003 with my wife and two teenagers. We fitted into a four-bunk cabin very nicely, but there are a few two bunkers aboard, I think. The big thing is that the cruise is "out of phase" with the normal cruises, so when you are out on the water, everyone else has gone home and the place is empty. It seems steep, but you get TWO cruises (afternoon and following morning), two meals, a night's accommodation, and the chance of kayaking or shore exploration if the weather is good. I enjoyed it immensely. There's a wet bar aboard, by the way, so when the cruise is done and the ship is anchored in a quiet cove, you can sit around with a cool beer or two and chat with the other passengers as you admire that incredible scenery. http://www.yha.org.nz/hostels-ind.asp?id=64 Pete, which it was a high point of his trip |

The overnight cruise of the real journey's boat was one of the best
experiences of my life. It is worth EVERY penny. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. "Peter" wrote in message ... In article , shakefly says...
