This is interesting.
I have been a travel agent for 20 years
Perks have virtually disappeared.

Agents who actually DO produce bookings have a chance
for perks - but signing up with a company on the
internet just to become a travel agent doesn't make much
sense to me. Get some training, get a job in your own town.
You can still be an independent agent (not independant),
and earn commissions - paid right there by an agency
owner you know.

As for this company issuing you:
"your official, industry-recognized Travel Agent Photo ID Card"
if it is NOT an IATAN card, it is NOT an industry-recognized card.
If it IS an IATAN card, why don't they say so.

It is in fact an IATA card. But a very small part of what we do. Our Company
name is Coastal. We (Myself and my wife) run a very successful business out
of our home. we have the ability to travel the world for literally pennies
on the dollar. Taxes only stays and 80% off condo rentals. Cruises, Car
rentals etc etc etc.
we market a package starting at $1295 thats worth $15,000. and we train a
team of people to do the same as we do. They and we make no less than $1000
on each and every sale and all the way up $9705.
The IATA card or IATAN is just a bonus to us. It has been useful in getting
FAM trips,stays and fares.
Travel Agents we are not. Travel Experts we are. I have personally trained 5
Travel Agents to do what I do and They are now making a great deal of money
for themselves instead of for the agency they worked for prior to joining.
If you would like to know more about our company I urge you to do your due
dilligence and get the details.
