Default US Airways Nightmare

Let me preface this post with ALL AIRLINES HAVE DELAYS AND PROBLEMS!!

However, lets just US Air is nothing but a problem.

My wife left last week to fly from Piemont Triad (GSO) to Jacksonville, FL
(JAX) and chose US Air because the time of the flight better suited her
schedule.

I encouraged her to fly Delta but she wanted to save 100 bucks.

Anyways, her flight down to JAX was 3 hours late and the delay was reported
because of no flight crew. No Flight Crew for 3 hours??

That was the best part of the trip. This afternoon she arrived back in CLT
on time and her flight was delayed three hours from CLT to GSO. Why you
ask? Because of the lack of a flight attendent.

They finally cancel the flight after my wife (and 6 month old) have been
stuck at CLT for 5.5 hours. They encourage people to rent a car. My wife
cannot because she does not have a car seat for our son.

A 1 1/2 later she finally gets on the bus which has no capacitiy for a
infant with no seatbelts are child seats available.

She is now on her way back which will take two hours to get to GSO and then
another 40 minutes to get back home not counting the time to get luggage and
get out of parking, etc.

The US Airways reps on the bus have been telling everyone how dissapointed
they are with flight attendent for not showing up. However, the curious
part is that the website lists the flight as being cancelled due to weather
issues. Hmm? How does that work? I notice all the flights from ATL to GSO
were coming in fine with no weather problems. Currently the conditions are
clear and nice.

The only other time my wife tried US Airways was about 3 years ago and on
the way back they called me at the house at midnight and informed me that
she would miss her connecting flight in CLT and asked for me to drive 2 plus
hours to CLT to pick her up. SO lets add 4.5 hours minimum for me to get
her. That would put me at 4.30am getting home and then I had to get up at
6:00am. I told them they would put her on a flight if they had to charter a
plane. Anwyays, US Air finally got her home around 2:00am on a unscheduled
flight.

Now that I am done with my rant, is there anything I can do? Is there anyc
consumer groups advocate for the airlines. US Air said they MIGHT offer
some discount just for the final leg of the flight.

I don't know that you really need to do anything, as it soons like with
this type of service and their money problems that USAirways may not be
around all that long.

Just my 2 cents worth
