I've said that twice now so I won't repeat it again. I did get,
however, exactly the reaction I expected from most that responded.
That is, attack me the poster when all I did was post an article from
a major US newspaper that itself is pro-universal coverage in the US.
And watch all the xenophobic (and uncritical) defense of the NHS as
somehow a perfect system. No difference from the cheese eating US
idiots is it?

How about explaining why the world isn't rushing headlong into
an American-style health system?
Yeah irrelevant alright. And hardly isolated. Everytime I have been
in the UK there's something on the BBC about cases like this. If they
were so isolated, that would hardly be the case would it?

The NHS is an enormous institution so of course there are always going
to be problems within it. And it's the business of the media in a
democratic society to discuss them. That doesn't mean anybody in their
right mind wants to ditch it for such an overwhelmingly proven failure
as the US model.

Trust me, you will not find a Brit alive (and dead!) who thinks the
NHS perfect, but you will find strong attachment to the concept of
health care to be provided on the (communist!) principle of resources
according to need, rather than ability to pay.

ever longer living patients. Theres an issue to be resolved certainly,

than the US gets of Europe.

Maybe but I don't know. From what I have seen here of a lot of
perceptions, the detailed news isn't any more accurate of the US than
is claimed here about the UK.
