He said BA now had 400 volunteers working to clear the backlog of 15,000
bags which has built up at the airport.

I like this bit 400 volunteers/15000 bags one wonders!

I question just what kind of person 'volunteers' in this kind of situation?
All that money, and they expect people to give up their free time to fix
this collosal stuff up?

The ones paid overtime to do it, of course.

Nope.

Voluntary overtime for the workforce.

They'll be on at least time + half.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

Presumably the management has been so difused that no one in particular
will ever be blamed for this massive cock up.

Do you mean they have stopped blaming the US for it?

No-one blamed!

Someone will get a bonus for reducing the mess by the use of his/her
wonderful management technique.

Probably the lady store detective they've made head of security for, as far
as anyone can tell, sleeping with the boss...

Wotta load of bollox. If 'the buck stops there,' the useless MD should
have RESIGNED.

Nah, that would stop them continuing their good work.

Nope.

He takes the heat off the new Spanish owners of BAA, who are trying to
recoup their 'poisoned chalice' debt incurred when they bought the company.

I assume that when he gets the inevitable chop after being caught breaking
some law or other, or getting caught in bed with an expensive tart or
something else reasonably trivial (as most airline heads seem to do these
days) he'll get a nice safe seat on the their board as a 'non executive
director' and sit back and collect the cash for doing nothing very much.
