Default Kilimanjaro - Marangu road: 5 or 6 day option

Hi,
While most of the advice favors 6-day option with an extra day for
better acclimating, the Marangu Hotel itself actually recommends 5-day
option. Their argument is that an extra day will not be able to help
in acclimating due to the altitude differences on Marangu route being
too severe. So an extra day, according to them, rather than helping
will only let high altitude get to you more. To support this opinion
they claim, according to their statistics, the 5-day option to have
higher summit success rates than 6-day one.
Who is right?
Thanx,
Ed
