Default body scanners going away

I've read some articles lately regarding the creepy body scanning machines.

One reporting the EU requiring that if they are installed, flyers have
the option to decline.

Then, I read an article indicating those machines are, or will be,
banned. This is great, insofar as Britain is still in the EU as London
is my preferred direct-flight destination from Dallas, Texas.

If some Europeans are out there and have a more first-hand information
about this, please post.
