No, it has nothing to do with that. Thermometers for weather reporting
are located in areas that do not trap and hold heat, as a general rule.
They are always cooler than the surrounding urban areas.


They are in Stevenson screens, a shaded and well ventilated box,
rather similar to a building well designed for hot conditions.
