Need Help with new website
Just got back from a 5 month stint in Mediterranean. My friend and I
have create a travel journal website with built in photo album and stuff. Mostly, this site will be used to keep track of friends that are currently traveling. Would love some input from those who have use sites like these before. Location of the site is : http://www.myTravelRecord.com Completely Free and very new. Also if there's some features you'd like to see, that would be great (can't guarantee I'll be able to put it in). Our main goal for the site is to have travelers submit news from their travels , not really sure how realistic this is. Anyways, if you don't have time to review the site, then just come by and look at some pictures from Turkey @ http://www.mytravelrecord.com/member.php?id=ken Thanks for your time ken |

Don't let other people discourage you from doing what you want to do. There are always people who want to pee on your cornflakes. Now, about your site. I would like to see an Index as soon as you get there with links to WHO. You know, something like this..... Our Travelers' Pages Mary Jones Goes to her page Tom Smith Joe Blow U. Gno Who etc. That way, you can find what you are looking for quickly, if keeping in touch with specific people is your goal. Also, please limit use of "bells and whistles" like Java, Flash, etc., which are exceedingly annoying on slow machines or slow internet connections. Java scrolls are very distracting when you are trying to read something on a site. Better just to have a manual scroll window. Whenever possible use thumbnails rather than making pages graphic intensive - again for the benefit of slow machines and slow connections. Otherwise, you site has a nice professional look and should do well. Remember publicity and marketing online is everything. You must dedicate a lot of time to doing this to make it successful. Good luck SD |

Need Help with new website
Has nothing to do with peeing in his cornflakes, if he wants a site by all
means make one. However; there is already a site that he can utilize without going through all the trouble of making one himself.. he did say he wanted input from someone who uses sites like these. Would love some input from those who have use sites like these before. This site is good if he wants to use it and link to his own site that is allowed there.. the site will also give him ideas.
