Ah reporters

"The plane, destined for Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways, was a
Airbus A340-600. The four-engined aircraft can carry between 380 and 472
passengers depending on the model."

You would think that if the aircraft was to be delivered within days to
Etihad then they would know how many seats. Plus I do think the 90
seat difference is a little too many.

Why would the reporter waste time tracking down such irrelevant information?
Does it have any impact on the main component of the story - i.e The
accident that occured?
How would the specific configuration have altered the outcome of the
accident?

Plus I do think the 90 seat difference is a little too many.

That's because you are quite clearly a petty little man.

Uh, what exactly is wrong with "The Airbus A340-600 is available in
configurations to carry from 380 to 472 passengers"?

It's one thing to bash a journo because he's an idiot. It's an entirely
different thing to bash a journo because you misinterpreted what he
wrote.

He was not misinterpreted. The complaint was that he was lazy and
reported generic information

Boo-****ing-hoo. Get over it.

when there should have been more specific information about that
particular plane.

Why *should* there have been more specific information?
I'm betting the information you are talking about would not matter to 99% of
their target demographic, and the 1% it would be important to would already
have that information to begin with. He was reporting an accident, not the
specs of a ****ing aircraft. Newspapers are aimed at the masses - not
nit-picking aviation nerds.
If you want the type of detail you are asking for, stop being such a
tight-arse and hand over the $10 or whatever it is for a publication that
specialises in aviation related matters.

You are the one wrongly claiming he was misinterpreted.

Well the author of the post I am currently replying to is quite clearly a
lazy moron who not only failed to read the thread properly, but also somehow
thinks I'm claiming someone was misinterpreted when I, in fact, made no such
claim.
That's just lazy, sloppy writing. Worse in fact, than the article he is
criticising, as the information as to who actually made the claim of
misinterpretation is right there in front of him. He didn't even need to do
any investigating. Simple English comprehension should have sufficed.

You are generating a misinterpretation.

And the author was a silly twit padding his story.

And you are a silly twit making inaccurate posts.

Not only that, but the very fact that your post is full of inaccuracies and
false assertions makes you a hypocrite as well.
