I mean, anything special? Is there a good calander of local events there
that anyone knows about?

Also, is Halloween celebrated in Amsterdam/Europe?

Hallowe'en is certainly celebrated in the UK, though not to the extent I
remember it as a kid in Canada in the '70s. For example, trick-or-treating
is not common here (though perhaps it is less common in North America too
now, what with all our modern fears about child safety).

Shops frequently have Hallowe'en-themed displays, there are
ghost-and-ghoul-themed fancy-dress parties, etc.

Not really. Some businesses are trying to introduce Halloween to the
Netherlands, but so far they have been largely unsuccessful. Most Dutch
people probably don't even know what Halloween is.
