Default OT... one reason to cruise, a reflection

For me, one of best things about cruising is the anticipation of the next
one. I know the same thing can be said of land based vacations, but the
high seas still holds a romantic fascination for me. Granted the exotic
port may be a run down Central American slum and, if I choose, I can remain
safely ensconced onboard a floating palace, (albeit a slightly garish one)
but has it ever been any different? But I digress. I was talking about
anticipation. g I was out plowing my driveway the other day, it was 2
degrees F, the snow was coming down at a rate of one inch an hour, the wind
was blowing (force 3), and I was loving it! Why, you might ask? I think
you know. That's right. I have my cruise docs. In the bottom right hand
drawer of my desk lay bright, sun covered decks, the smell of varnish curing
in the tropical heat. The hazy, grey and purple hues of a distant island.
The sea vanishing to a point on the far horizon. As my tractor struggles
with the heavy snow, I can feel the deck vibrate, the subsonic throb that
lulls me to delicious slumber in a shaded deck chair. Yes, whether my
cruise turns out to be dream or nightmare it has already been worth the
price.

Phil ...still snowing, guess I'll have to plow

Garish floating palaces? Central American Slums?

Time to switch ships. And pick new itineraries.
