OK, I'll bite. What was that all about? Someone/something is reposting many old postings, but now with a new From: line and with just "--multiplaza.nl.nu--" appended to each posting. The NNTP-Posting-Host:, Message-ID:, X-Complaints-To: and Path: all point to xs4all.nl. Apparently someone is taking "xs4all" too literally! :-( While I have (of course) not checked all articles, the NNTP-Posting-Host: seems to be constant, 80.126.153.239, which is eilandurk.xs4all.nl. The User-Agent: is some special one "newsSync (Multiplaza) some number". I have browsed a little in the news.admin.net-abuse.* groups, but have not seen whether this has been reported, and if so, what, if anything has been done about it. My news.wanadoo.nl 'feed' is clean, but my news.individual.de (aka uni-berlin.de) has all this crap, so I do not know whether these articles are being canceled or/and filtered. Feel free to report these (to X-Complaints-To: ). In the meantime, I'll keep checking the news.admin.net-abuse.* groups. |

I reported this to and just now got a response from them, saying "Thanks for this report. We've taken action agains that host.", so let's hope that this flood has indeed stopped. (FYI, the XS4ALL report number is #434539.) |

I'd suggest that anyone who posted yesterday and didn't get responses to queries probably got lost in the flood, so post again. Cheers, Alan -- |
