Do hotels in the USA have minimum age requirements?

I believe that some hotels may have minimum age restrictions or requirements to be 21 years of age to check into a room due to state laws. Do you know of any states or cities where my son can travel and stay on his own at 18-years old?. If he has a credit (not a debit or collateralized card) card in his name which has enough credit line to cover a reasonable amount of damage, he will be fine. I know of no hotel that will turn away money due to the perosn being "only 18". Both hotwire and priceline have a minimum age of 18. |

Yeah, but as long as you're 18 (and therefore able to enter into a legal contact), money is usually their biggest factor. Having a real credit card (which means they can preauth a few hundred dollars, in case you trash the room) is usually more then sufficient. -- Sorry, she meant to say "stripped naked and thrown out an airlock", I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused. -- John Sheridan, B5 |

I can think of one exception: Casino hotels generally won't rent a room to anyone under 21. === Steve Shoreline, Washington USA 30 Oct 2005, 1711 PST |

Do hotels in the USA have minimum age requirements?
I did research for someone who wanted to say in Chicago and I found out that
it was a legal rule there. It is different state by state and maybe even city by city. "B Vaughan" wrote in message ... When I was trying to find out whether there were legal age limits in New York in order to answer this question for the original poster, I ran across several hotels who specifically stated that they didn't rent to anyone under 21. However, I found several others that mentioned 18 as their minimum age, so obviously it's not a legal limit. -- Barbara Vaughan My email address is my first initial followed by my last name at libero dot it. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
