Why not ask your Travel Agent?

You can use your cabin credit on shore excursions, photographs, shops,
spa services, restaurants, tips.

Pete, I apologize for my curt response earlier but it appears (please
correct me if I'm wrong) that you bypassed your local travel agent
and booked your cruise directly with NCL or on one of the BIG, on-line
cruise booking sites.

You're now finding yourself with a boatload of questions, zero
support, and are pumping the on-line community for answers. Nothing
wrong with this but always remember that you get what you pay for.

Incidentally, I've seen higher effective pricing on Expedia (booking
& cancellation charges, non-cancelable travel insurance, etc.) than
what most agents charge.

Regards,
AWB

PS Unlike many of my colleagues, I don't advertise on this newsgroup
as it is against the rules.

You may use your NCL cruise credit for items such as alcoholic
beverages and soft drinks, spa treatments, certain specialty exercise
classes, laundry, photographs, casino, ship-to-shore phone, e-mail,
Internet, fax and Shore Excursions (including all Dive In™ programs).
As was mentioned earlier by someone from the board; if you had taken
the opportunity to avail yourself of a professionally certified and
CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) NCL cruise specialist
then they would have helped you PLAN the value oriented use of your on
board credit. Perhaps you can surf your way thru to find out some
answers on how to use your credit

You could have just answered the question. Questions can be asked and
answered in this newsgroup without an editorial about who booked the
cruise. And your opinion about local travel agents is just an opinion.
I have recieved great service from travel agents who are not local.

One of the reasons this forum exists is to be pumped for answers.

I should have just said "Travel Agent" as opposed to local TA.

In any case, "Pete" is entitled to support from whomever he
purchased his cruise from and should demand nothing less than answers
to his questions. The cruise seller should not be able to skirt his or
her responsibilities to the client and freeload off of anyone else.

These freeloaders (Expedia, etc.) con everyone into thinking that they
offer the best deal & service but they then refer you to newsgroups and
travel agents when you have any specific questions. We are in effect
creating an oligopoly (i.e. proverbial 600lbs gorillas) that will be
dictating terms in no time. Remember Home Depot?

Some people don't like phoning their travel agent for every minor
question. No one should feel inhibited from asking a question here
instead of calling up their travel agent. Of course there are some
things that only their agent can answer but then that will be the
answer. Not to attack them for who they booked with. You don't even
know who Pete booked with. You are making an assumption to push your
agenda.

Asking a question here is not freeloading off of anyone else. Many of
us on this newsgroup are quite happy to answer questions. And I have
noticed that some of those who participate here are travel agents and
they don't seem to mind answering questions. In addition I think some
of those travel agents learn from the answers given by those of us who
are not travel agents but veteren cruisers.
