Default Why rush through London when you can walkthrough?

This is an introduction to a new guide to London. The London
walkthrough is a completely different guide to the world's most
exciting capital. It's not about the best or the coolest or the
cheapest places. It's about the mechanics of getting around London
with ease. Check it out at http://www.londonwalkthrough.co.uk
Travelling around London turns us all into creatures of habit. We
commute along the same journeys for months, sometimes years on end. We
learn our regular routes; how to interchange between one line and the
next, which exit surfaces closest to work and where to pick up a latte
without a lengthy detour.

What happens when we change our regular journey, maybe to meet
clients, go shopping, or join friends for a drink? Or those horrible
moments when "line suspended" flashes up along the platform? We
struggle out of an unfamiliar tube station like camera-laden tourists
blinking in the headlights of an oncoming open-top tour bus. It's
frustrating not knowing which exit to take, the nearest place to grab
a sandwich and where the nearest cash machine is.

This website contains all that information; how to get through the
tube, the local bus connections, where the closest chemist, the works.
Have a wander through the site and you're bound to find something
useful to you. We're still working on the site; some stations still
need more research, and maps will also be added. The information will
be most handy when it's published as a pocket-sized book; that's why
we will hopefully have the first edition of the London walkthrough in
print by the autumn.

We just hope the walkthrough will ease your journey through this
wonderful, dynamic capital of ours. If you like the site, forward it
to anyone you know who commutes through London. And we'd love to hear
your comments and your walkthrough tips too - just reply to this
e-mail.

Best wishes,

The London walkthrough Team
