bank form for immigration when travelling to NZ
I there,
I've heard, that everybody who is travelling to NZ need a proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay, approximately NZ$1000 per person per month, for the immigration. Is this also true for a holiday stay of about 6 weeks? The proof can be cash but also a bank form. Does anybody know where to find such a form in the internet which can be filled by my bank? Thanks in advance, Ralf |

According to the Embassy of NZ in Berlin, a simple account statement (you
know, the stuff you get per mail once a month... ;-)), which shows that you possess sufficient funds, will suffice. For tourists - if asked, which is hardly ever - a credit card is sufficient.
They normally only ask derelict looking individuals, or those with an 'interesting' entry/exit profile. wrote in message oups.com... bank form for immigration when travelling to NZ
I have been visiting New Zealand for the last 21 years and have never
once been asked to prove that I have sufficient funds. I've entered through Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch without difficulty. Typically we stay a minimum of 3 weeks and often more. I can only think that it's your appearance/clothing that may cause you to be singled out. Having visited half the countries in the World I would rate New Zealand immigration officers as the most friendly, pleasant and accommodating. I'd be more concerned about not taking in any animal products, plants or seeds. The cute little dogs that patrol the international baggage claim areas are super efficient at finding food. If you have seen the effects of foot and mouth, or other similar communicable diseases you will fully understand the need to protect the health of the kiwi people and their vital agri business. A credit card and a recent statement showing your borrowing limit and balance might be sufficient. Of course if you have no money, no plastic or no money deposited in a local bank and a return ticket for a flight in 6 months time then you will probably have difficulty entering any country. Unless you have organised some student work in advance I would have thought that NZ$1000 is probably what you would need as a minimum for one month. New Zealand is cheap and there is plenty of reasonably priced accommodation, but it's not free. wrote: I there, I've heard, that everybody who is travelling to NZ need a proof of sufficient funds for the duration of stay, approximately NZ$1000 per person per month, for the immigration.
