Thanks,

By provided...on Carnival, you pay from a vending machine. So if you have a
fav., bring a little with you.

As for bio-degradable, I think you will find typical P&G things like Tide.
FYI, if the ship is following the law, none of this gets into the sea...it
gets into an onshore treatment system.

It seems that self-serve laundry is a dying breed. I understand the new HAL
ships have no facilities, our last cruise on Celebrity had none. I guess
there is no 'revenue enhancement' if we do our own duds.

Celebrity has never had self service laundrys, Princess always has.
The rest I don't remember since I rarely use them on a ship.

Celebrity never had any self-serve laudromats though so it is not a
matter of it dying there since they never had them.

New ships are still being built with self-serve laundries. I just
looked at the deck plans for new Crown Princess, because I am booked on
her and there is a self-serve laundromats on every deck with cabins,
except the deck I am on.

Last time I used the laundry facility on Carnival ship was year 2000. I
think they have the regular detergents (Tide and several other ones) for
sales in the laundry room.
