If you feel the need to get away from people, take a walk in one of the Royal parks, or along the Thames path. Or get out, as I did 25 years ago. I'm still within 30 train minutes of Waterloo but am very satisfied that I haven't been into London for some 15 years. Surreyman |

A question which may be, by definition, unanswerable:-)) I can think of several interesting churches in London that were obviously unpopular, after all, we were the only people there, and no one on the streets could tell us where they were, even less than a block away. Actually, those are some of the nicest places to visit, if you can find them. George |

I suspect we're dealing with a slight language problem here; I think you want beautiful places that aren't crowded with visitors. Can I suggest "off-the-beaten-path" as a substitute for "unpopular"? (Of course anyone who speaks Engleesh so unidiomatically as to not know such a phrase deserves only our scorn and ridicule, of which we apparently have plenty.) I'll open with Hampstead Heath, and not least (in summer) its Lido. Des |
