Our flt. is coming in around 12 noon to San Juan. I'm wounding is getting
on board or checking our stuff in early will be a problem. Also what good
tours are there in San Juan?

You should be able to check in/board after you arrive at the cruise
terminal. At the a/p, go to the transportation desk to book your taxi
or van. Luggage is handled at the terminal for you--the handlers get it
on board for you. Just be sure you have your Carnival luggage tags on
all bags and properly filled out.

Don't know about tours in Puerto Rico on arrival day (I just wanted to
get on board ship). Lunch is served in the buffet and dinner is casual
and open seating in the dining rooms. Since sail time is 10 PM, there
is adequate time for some early dining and night life. Should be able
to check at the a/p.

Tours upon return can be booked while on board. You must consider your
flight departure time, naturally. Many of the tours will transfer your
luggage from the cruise terminal to the a/p for you.
