It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president." Your contempt for the democratic process is noted. Show where the writer *even implied* a contempt for democracy Read it idiot. Go for it you pretentious asshole, show where the "contempt for democracy" is in the post or admit it was just one more of your malicious attempts to smear someone. The contempt for democracy resonates in almost every line. But as you are blinded by your own prejudice you cannot see that. 'Vast confederacy of fools' and 'multitude of fools' are phrases by a person who has a deep contempt for the opinion of the majority which is a not very subtle attack on democracy. |

If you trust democracy, you are more of a fool than I thought. Sensible democracies check the excesses of that sort of system with things like constitutions. Constitutions can't be modified by a simple majority exactly because while most people aren't stupid all the time, they definitely are some of the time. |
