Default WHY INDIA IS CAGEY ABOUT WORLD'S HIGHEST OBSERVATORY AT 15,000 FT IN LADAKH?

Why the world doesn't know about the most beautiful cold desert at the
top of the world in Ladakh, India?
Why the great tourism opportunity in Changthang, ladakh is not fully
exploited?
What is the secret?
Ladakh, a stunning region of Jammu and Kashmir in the lap of the
Himalayas and Karakorum range of mighty mountains in the north west is
an ethereal cold desert at an average height of 14,000 ft above the
sea level. A land of shooting stars, rugged landscape situated amidst
multiple hued mountains and surprised by little green hamlets.
Some where there is the world's highest Astronomical Observatory
"Hanle" close to China and Pakistan border. What's happening there?
Why this spectacular and a national achievement is not turned into a
tourist hot spot?

The secret is that there's a bloody great big war going on there and non
Indian citizens can't go there without special permission.

Since the last set of kidnappings they've stopped giving permission for
tourists.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.
