Default Newyears in Sydney

Hi people!

My family and myself are celebrating newyears in Sydney this year.
Have anyone got any good ideas on what to do, and where to be to see
the fireworks etc. I've heard that they close of parts of the CBD, is
that true?

I would appreciate any answers!

Cheers!

The CBD areas are closed to road traffic so that pedestrians can get better
access.
The best positions to see the fireworks begin to fill up 12 hours or more
before midnight. Anywhere around the harbour east of Gladesville bridge will
give you a good to excellent view.

I suggest crossing the Harbour Bridge (from Circular Quay) and then
choosing one of the areas to the west or east of it, a bit away from it
so you get a full view of the Bridge and the Opera House. I did that
last year, chose an area past Milson's Point that offered great views of
the harbour. Beautiful.
