Default Romantic City Break: Dublin or Edinburgh?

Thinking of short city break in August, fancy both of these destinations but
cannot decide. Anyone got any thoughts on the merits or not of them?

Both are excellent cities for short breaks. Visually, Edinburgh has the
unbeatable edge, but both fascinating cities with much to offer.
However, during the festival (most of August) Edinburgh is very busy,
and I would avoid it if possible. By contrast, we didn't find Dublin
_too_ busy (though far from empty) when we took a short break there in
August a few years ago...

Forgot about the festival

Reckon Dublin is edging it anyway

Cheers to all
