Then Saturday we get on the Pride of Hawaii (which is the only ship

It's the Pride of American. The Pride of Hawaii was converted to the
Norwegian Jade.

Right - I get them mixed up.

Remember that it's American service (we're all equals) and not
continental service (we're your servants) and you'll be fine. I haven't
been on that ship, but the Pride of Hawaii crew was very friendly and
enthusiastic.

I've been on the Jade, but it wasn't the crew from the US anymore.

After we finish the cruise we fly to the Big
Island and I rent a car and we drive up to the Volcano National Park -
staying for a couple of days right outside the park.

I like the Big Island. I actually prefer Hilo to Kona.

We are going for the NP specifically because of his interest in
volcanoes.

If you have some time in Honolulu, visit Shangri La, Doris Duke's
estate. It's supposed to be fabulous. We couldn't get a reservation,
so I can't speak for it personally, but everyone I talked to recommended
it.

My sister has been there and she said it was fabulous, but it wasn't
something she would particularly recommend to a 12 yo boy. She said
the Bishop museum was something to go to.

Hey, David, good work, that is way cool! I am familiar with a number of
those cities, so I'm going to listen to a bit of one to see what I
think. Right now, it looks like they offer coverage limited to Med port
cities--but what a great place to start!

Thank you so much,
