For the first time in m'mem'ry, I visited the park during a Summer
month.

It was lovely today: brilliant blue sky, low seventies at almost ten
thousand, as well as around four thousand, feet.

I expected teeming crowds but was pleased, for selfish reasons, that
getting around was easy

The falls were but mere trickles.

There were occasional patches of snow.

Although there were flowers in bloom, there weren't many.

Although the Merced was flowing nicely, it lacked the fierce beauty to
which I'm accustomed.

Saw four deer walking together last night when the temperature was
33°F.

I've avoided Summer visits for decades. I knew why. Today was
confirmation of that knowledge. I'll continue to visit as I have been
.. . . not in Summer.

Yosemite and Bridalveil Falls are totally dry by fall. Nevada and Vernal Falls
run all year long, but are much lower in the fall.
