when you eat with a group of people, no one eats just one thing in China..
not just Beijing.. don't get hung up on Beijing food, it's basically the
same food everywhere else I've been. Everything is usually shared on a
carousel when you eat in China, if you are not an American tourist that is..
Most Chinese over there share everything on the table together.. Don't get
hung up on one food. (snip)

A good reply - I appreciate it. I have personally been in Beijing 4 times, and have eaten in fancy restaurants as well as small "eat inns". Most of the restaurants have "Lazy Susans (carousels)", but not all, and I have enjoyed fast food served in large food courts in shopping malls as well as "dip-in" Mongolian woks. Someone who is not all that familiar with the variety of what the Chinese cuisine has to offer may have a tendency of thinking about Peking duck in Beijing because of the word association.
