Default Release of Airline Schedules

Looking at taking a Alaska cruise next summer and will be flying from the
Jacksonville area. Searching the various travel site i.. Kayak.com, Orbit
etc they have fares posted for the time period I plan to travel(May 2007)
but seems to be limited in availability. Wanted to find out when airlines
release their flight schedules for travel 6-12 months in advance would they
release all their available flights for a certain time period all at the
same time or might they release more flight availability over the coming
months?

The Legacy airlines post flights 330 days prior to date of travel, so
you'd need to wait 330 days from your return date. Southwest, Jet Blue
and some others keep travelers in suspense.
Due to high demand they do sometimes add in more inventory or will
switch to a larger aircraft.

ago.

Don't believe what you read once they are released.
We booked a flight connecting at O'Hare with only 55 minutes between
flights.
We just received word that our flight (same flight number) has been moved
so that now we have a full 3 hours between flights.
This is going to Ft. Lauderdale in November.
Had we booked the flight the day of the cruise instead of the day before we
would miss the sailing of the cruise due to the two hours delay.

Which is a good reason to fly in the day before.
